New Zealand doesn’t really have any pop stars in the Spears/Aguilera mold. The closest act I can think of is Brooke Fraser, who sings songs written for her (to her benefit, her songs aren’t terribly sleazy). She is from Wellington and is the daughter of a legendary rugby player, but now lives in Sydney. She is big into World Vision and does considerable amounts of charity work for them.
Wikipedia also contains a pretty in-depth description of her role with her church in Sydney. Some of you may have seen or heard her performing with Hillsong United, 2006’s best selling Christian act in Canada.
Today’s songs will “Deciphering Me”…
…and “Arithmetic.” This song was given a satirical award for “Most fairy lights used in a fairy clip.” If Wikipedia says so, it must be true.
