Holy smokes, I Live in New Zealand.

Just as a Kiwi living in Canada would have to promote our corporately-flogged bands (I’m looking at you, drunk, bogan Albertan), it is only fair that I do the same.  And thus, here is Opshop.  They were officially formed in Auckland but have roots across the country.  They put out an album shortly after my arrival in Auckland so I saw (TV) and heard (radio) plenty of adverts (NZ English for you) plugging the album and saw the videos several times (when I used to wake up and put the music TV station on in the apartment) and blah blah blah.  The polite thing to say is, “They receive plenty of exposure here.”  At least they are talented.

The lead single off the album was, “Maybe.”

The third single is used in a sweetly sappy ad campaign for New Zealand Post, showing people who miss their fathers (in one ad) and missed connections (in another ad) receiving a letter.  It’s called, “One Day.”
