I think Dave Dobbyn is New Zealand’s Burton Cummings.  Dave has fronted a number of bands here, one of which I’ll post about later, and has written songs for a number of other musicians.

He had two songs on the Top 100 New Zealand Songs Ever list, the version that was compiled in 2004.  I bought it.  There’s been some good stuff since then, which I am going to start getting into next week.

The #3 song on that list was “Loyal”.

The #70 song on that list was “You Oughta be in Love”.  The animation in the background is from New Zealand cartoon strip-turned-movie-turned-theme park, Footrot Flats.
